The Ohio High School Athletic Association has made a change in its football playoff nights for the 2023 season.

This year, with the exception of the state title games, all playoff contests for all divisions will be played on Friday nights. That begins with postseason openers on Friday, October 27.

In recent years, the OHSAA split playoff games between Friday and Saturday nights, depending on a team’s division.

State title games in Ohio will still be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Nov. 30-Dec. 2

The state championship games will once again be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.

The D2 state title game kicks things off on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.

The tourney continues on Friday, Dec. 1 with the D5 title game at 10:30 a.m., the D3 battle at 3 p.m. and the D1 big-school championship game at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the D6 state championship contest is slated for 10:30 a.m., the D7 battle is at 3 p.m. and closing the tourney will be the D4 title game at 7:30 p.m.
