Family business serves up farm-to-food truck hamburgers, root beer floats at the Columbiana County Fair
Farmers Casey and Charlie Ellington serve up farm-to-table hamburgers from the Old Fashion Root Beer stand.
Stop by the farmer owned-and-operated Old Fashion Root Beer food stand at the Columbiana County fairgrounds in Lisbon.
Grab a burger and a root beer float from the Ellington farm-to-food truck parked at the Columbiana County fair.
The burgers are made with Ohio-raised beef straight from their farm in Lousiville.
“We’ve always been at farmers market, but we’ve never gotten to take this direct-to-consumer approach,” said Casey Ellington who runs the stand with her husband Charlie, along with managing the farm and raising four children.
Casey said they just purchased Old Fashion Root Beer stand this year to sell their own burgers straight to customers at the Columbiana County fair and future events.
“We’re amateurs. We know how important small businesses are to the success of the community, but especially to the success of an agriculture community. We’re pretty excited about this new feature,” she said. “We find that it’s really important to be very active in our community.”
Casey said to stop by the stand and say hi to the family this week while they’re at the fairgrounds.
“The kids are really excited about this, especially excited to have access to unlimited root beer.Yeah, really big into that,” she said.
Old Fashion also be at the stark county fair which begins Aug. 29 in Canton.
