Southington patrol post marks 90th anniversary
Members of the public joined with officials around Trumbull County to salute the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Aug. 4 at an open house marking the 90th anniversary of the Warren District post headquarters off U.S. Route 422 in Southington.
Officials there offered tours of the facility, which included K-9 unit, drones, and other forms of technology.
Some Ohio State Highway Patrol cruisers were featured parked in the front yard, including a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, the last one purchased by the state agency.
Retired patrol officers drove the vintage vehicles.
Also, during the three-hour event, the public enjoyed refreshments and chatted with some of the personnel who have helped keep Trumbull County’s highways safe since 1933.
