3 arrested in Friday night OVI checkpoint in Austintown
Three arrests were made Friday evening as part of an OVI checkpoint held in Austintown Township by local police officers and The Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield Post.
Saturation patrols were conducted before and after the checkpoint.
The patrol said 160 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and two were diverted for further investigation. One of the two drivers was arrested for OVI, possession of marijuana and child endangering for having his 3-month-old son in the vehicle with him. Officers conducting saturation patrols in the area of the checkpoint made two OVI arrests.
