Youngstown State University: Fall semester starts as administrators launch new Y brand
As students return to Youngstown State University to start their fall semester today, administrators launch a new brand to stand out among the rest of the universities in Ohio.
They’re introducing the “Know Y” campaign, adding a new significance to the iconic block “Y” logo.
Brand embodies knowledge and identity
The launch of Youngstown State University’s new branding is intentionally designed to get people talking and asking questions to learn more about Youngstown State.
“This rollout is more than just a change in words; it represents the essence of YSU’s spirit, values and vision for the future,” said Ross Morrone, YSU’s chief marketing officer. “I am excited about what it means for our campus and the trajectory of the university.”
“Know Y” invokes curiosity
School officials say while it’s made up of only a few letters, “Know Y” does a lot of heavy lifting for YSU’s current culture, principles and future aspirations.
They say the new brand invokes curiosity, a continued pursuit of wisdom and an unyielding dedication to progress.
