The Farmers National Bank in Canfield teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for a day of service across Northeast Ohio.
Building up Northeast Ohio community
More than 70 members of the Farmers Team in Ohio recently spent the day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley and Habitat for Humanity East Central in Canton.
“It’s been wonderful to work with the team at Farmers National Bank,” said David Redig, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley. “We are overjoyed about the number of volunteers who will be helping us push our Habitat mission forward.”
The Mahoning Valley team volunteered Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Habitat house at 1527 Lansdowne Blvd. in Youngstown.
Volunteers spent the day swinging hammers, painting, sanding floors, and installing drywall.
Farmers National Bank also presented a $5,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity during their volunteer day.
“Farmers is all about giving back to our community,” said Amber Wallace, chief retail and marketing officer. “We’re not just building houses – we’re helping build a better community.”
