Angels for Animals works to help needy animals in Mahoning County

Angels for Animals continued spreading its message of helping animals in need in Mahoning County with its booth at the Canfield Fair.

“The money is used to help animals at our shelter,” Volunteer Coordinator Diana James said on Thursday.

James added the group is continuing to spread its message of spaying and neutering animals to control the pet population.

The message has worked with dog owners as the group holds 26 dogs in the shelter and foster homes in the area.

Cats are a different story.

“There are 1,000 of them,” James said, adding that more education is needed through the area to help the problem.

Here’s why the group is looking for volunteers.
