Reports: 2 dead, 1 injured in Youngstown shooting

UPDATE: Police are reporting that 2 are dead, one is injured in a shooting in the 200 block of East Auburndale Avenue.

According to reports, a Black man aged 22 and a Black woman aged 30 was killed, while a 26-year-old Black man was injured and being treated at Mercy Health

Youngstown Police Department Detectives, the Crime Scene Unit and Coroner’s Office were requested and arrived on scene shortly after. The incident is still under investigation.

PREVIOUS REPORTING: Youngstown police have a large presence in the 200 block of East Auburndale Avenue.

Police Captain Jason Simon said in a press release Thursday night that officers are dealing with a “critical incident.”

No other information was immediately available about the incident.
