Newton Falls woman faces domestic violence, strangulation, assault charges after incident
A 22-year-old Newton Falls woman, involved in a same-sex relationship, was charged with domestic violence, strangulation and assault after a Sept. 19 incident involving her live-in partner at a Newton Village apartment in Newton Falls.
According to a Trumbull County sheriff’s report, deputies were dispatched shortly before 4 p.m. to the apartment to where the partner’s 51-year-old mother claimed the woman, identified as Jennika Fairchild, slammed the door onto the mother’s foot and the force of the slam had broken a window.
The live-in partner, also age 22, told deputies the couple had been fighting all day she had wanted Fairchild out of the house and claimed Fairchild had gone from “mentally abusing her to physical abuse.”
During the fight, the partner claimed Fairchild had grabbed a glass candle and threw it at her and then she started shoving and choking her. When the mother had arrived, the report stated, Fairchild had the woman pinned.
Fairchild was taken away by deputies in handcuffs to be arraigned in Newton Falls Municipal Court.
Trumbull County jail records show as of Sept. 20, she is incarcerated pending the posting of a $6,500 bond.
