Wellsville man sentenced to two life terms plus five years in prison for rape

The Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito J. Abruzzino announced a jury convicted 69-year-old Spencer B. Kidder, who was sentenced to two life terms plus five years in prison.

Spencer B. Kidder of Wellsville was convicted of multiple counts including four counts of rape, felonies of the first degree; two counts of sexual battery, felonies of the second degree; and one count of gross sexual imposition, a felony of the third degree.

Kidder was convicted after three days in court.

On the prosecutor’s Facebook announcement, Abruzzino thanked the staff at the county prosecutor’s office, the Wellsville Police Department, the Child Advocacy Center and Columbiana County Children’s Services for their help.
