Although it’s October, April is the talk of the town on the “Golden Bachelor.”

April Kirkwood, that is. She’s a local Youngstown native and one of many older, wiser women vying for Gerry Turner’s heart on the first season of the “Golden Bachelor.”

First dates

For his first one-on-one date in episode two, Bachelor Gerry Turner chose Theresa. The couple bonded about the loss of their spouses and seemed to enjoy one each other’s company at a diner. At the end of the date, Turner gives his date a rose, making Theresa safe for next week.

Group dates

Next was the group date: April, Christina, Edith, Ellen, Faith, Jeanie, Kathy, Nancy, Sandra and Natascha. The women and the “Golden Bachelor” participated in a romance cover photo shoot, which was light, fun and goofy.

During the group date, April was a shoulder to cry on as Nancy shed tears over wearing a wedding dress for the photo shoot. After Nancy opened up to Turner, he gave her the date rose.

It’s all about April

Then, later on, April was all jokes when grilling for the Bachelor’s birthday party.

“I wonder how Gerry likes his wiener,” she joked by the grill.

Speaking of April’s jokes, the woman vying for the Golden Bachelor’s heart is quickly winning over much of Twitter.

April had some thoughts during the rose ceremony, which also made it to Twitter.

The Golden Bachelor sent Natascha, Peggy and Jeanie home at the rose ceremony.

Stay tuned for more April-isms during next week’s episode.
