3 things we know about Youngstown native, ‘Golden Bachelor’ contestant April Kirkwood
A Youngstown native made her debut Thursday night on the ABC dating reality show “The Golden Bachelor.”
April Kirkwood, who now lives in Port St. Lucie, is one of 22 women who is competing for the attention of Gerry Turner, a 71-year-old widower who lives in Indiana.
Kirkwood made a immediate impression after wearing floor-length brown dress with a basket full of chicken eggs, which she said refferred to her growing up on a chicken farm in Youngstown.
“My eggs are still very fresh,” she said.
Kirkwood also clucked and danced like a chicken and gave Turner a kiss.
She also was the first woman to pull Turner aside during the show and gave him a calendar with only April in it and pictures of herself. She got another kiss and called herself a flirt.
Kirkwood did not get a first impression rose, but is still in the game.
