According to AAA, gas demand and price are both going down in northeast Ohio and across the country.

In Ohio, drivers are paying around $3.30 for a gallon of gas, 12 cents lower than last week.

During this week in October of 2022, the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.92.

Today, the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.33 in Youngstown and $3.27 in Niles.

Ravenna drivers see the lowest average for a gallon of gas at $3.08.

Why are gas prices dropping?

According to AAA, the national average fell 11 cents weekly, and U.S. drivers could pay around $3.70 per gallon.

Data shows today’s national average is 12 cents less than a month ago and 21 cents less than a year ago.

The supply is growing, but the demand for gas is dropping, pushing pump prices down.

According to AAA, the gas demand dropped significantly from 8.62 to 8.01 million barrels per day last week.

The cost of oil is also decreasing, hovering close to $85 per barrel.
