The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation is spreading anti-hate this fall.

The council is hosting educational opportunities for local community members, including hearing from Holocaust survivor Art Gelbart.

Next month, he’ll be a featured speaker for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation’s education initiative.

Gelbart is originally from Poland but relocated to the northeast Ohio.

During his speech, he’ll recount his two years of labor in concentration camps in Blechhammer.

He’ll share how he was finally liberated after a death march to Buchenwald, as well as how his life was altered during the Holocaust.

Gelbart is speaking at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown.

To register for the event, contact director of community engagement Melissa Bateman by sending an email to mbateman@jewishyoungstown.org or calling 330-746-3251, ext. 159.
