Youngstown police arrest murder suspect from Sept. 11 shooting in city

Youngstown police arrested a suspect Monday from a Sept. 11 shooting death in the 2000 block of Summer St.
Darnell Jones, 18, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Ty’Lend Lewis, 21.
“As always, we elicited public support for our fight against tragic and senseless violent crime within our city, especially amongst our young citizens,” Youngstown Police Capt. Jason Simon said in a press release. “In this case, both public and family assistance were outstanding and played an imperative role in solving this egregious murder.”
