60 people involved in weekend fight downtown, according to Youngstown police

Police officers were called to break up a fight between as many as sixty people around 1 a.m. Sunday.

According to police reports, they were called to a fight between 50 and 60 people. It occurred in a parking lot on the southwest corner of West Commerce and North Hazel Streets.

Multiple Youngstown Police Department officers were called to help separate people fighting.

Reports say officers used pepper spray and deployed Tasers to break up fistfights.

Several people arrested during the fight

A juvenile was arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer in the head during the brawl. The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

Several others were arrested by police and taken to the Mahoning County Jail, according to YPD reports.

The unidentified defendants are facing misdemeanor charges for their alleged involvement in the riot and refusing to comply with police officers. According to reports, several defendants refused to give officers their names during the fighting.
