The following cases were handled Tuesday by Judge Andrew D. Logan of the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Larry D. Owens, 49, of Warren Burton Road, Southington, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree assault on a police officer felony. Owens will be sentenced after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by probation officers. The case stemmed from a Warren police call, early on the morning hours of Jan. 29, 2023, to the Sheetz gas station on East Market Street to quell a large unruly crowd. The defendant, according to reports, became combative with police officers, punching one in the eye. Bond was continued for Owens as he awaits sentencing.
  • Steven D. Ohler, 19, of Lowell Avenue, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree attempted failure to comply with signal or order of police officer. Ohler, who could face between six and 12 months in prison, will be sentenced after undergoing a background report conducted by probation officers. The case evolved from an incident on Jan. 27, 2023, where Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers chased a vehicle driven by Ohler, after he failed to stop for their signal, prosecutors stated.
