Warren man takes plea deal, faces 36 months in prison on weapons charges

The following action was taken Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Jaquan P. Isom, 33, of Eastland Avenue SE, Warren, took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to one count of having weapons while under disability. The action canceled a jury trial that was to begin Wednesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan. Isom could face up to 36 months in prison and will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation conducted by probation officers. At sentencing , counts of carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle will be dismissed against Isom. The case involved a traffic stop conducted by Brookfield police on U.S. Route 62 and Bedford Road in Brookfield in April 2022.
  • Matthew R. Bohyer, 44, of Bradley Brownlee Road, Burghill, was sentenced by Judge Sean O’Brien to serve 12 months in state prison on a tampering with evidence conviction. Bohyer, who pleaded guilty to the third-degree felony on Sept. 13, A police report showed that Bohyer swallowed suspected narcotics during a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township on April 16, 2023.
