A man faces multiple charges after leading police officers on a chase after 6:30 p.m. last Thursday in Youngstown.

Police officers attempted to pull over a blue Chrysler sedan on U.S. 62 (Madison Ave. Expressway) for dangerous driving, according to reports.

Youngstown Police Department officers say the blue sedan was driving eastbound and kept crossing over the center line of Madison Ave. Expressway.

Police tried to pull the Chrysler over, but the driver ignored the sirens and kept driving onto Albert Avenue.

Reports say a man jumped out and ran eastbound across Albert Avenue once the car finally stopped.

Police followed the man into the woods near the road; he was later identified in police reports as John Randall.

Officers arrested Randall and two other occupants in the car with him. The driver of the car was issued a citation.

Reports say officers found three small plastic bags of cocaine: one on the path where Randall ran, one inside the car and the other in Randall’s front coat pocket.

Police also located a loaded firearm inside the car. None of the occupants of the car claimed the gun was theirs.

Randall had active warrants out of Youngstown Municipal Court and Trumbull and Cuyahoga counties for court violations.

He was charged with felony possession of drugs and obstructing official business.

Randall appeared at 9 a.m. Monday in Youngstown Municipal Court.
