Niles Bob Evans customer says waitress threw a plate at her after order complaints
A customer at the Bob Evans restaurant at the Eastwood Mall complex apparently got more than she wanted from a waitress during suppertime on Nov. 17.
What allegedly happened during the incident?
According to a Niles police report, a 41-year-old Warren woman reported she was assaulted by a waitress, identified as a 27-year-old Youngstown woman, who threw a plate at her.
The customer said she sent her soda back first and when she received her order of bacon, she stated she sent that back as well because it was not cooked like she wanted, the report stated.
When she received her bacon a second time, the woman told police she realized the one egg she received was not cooked how she wanted. The waitress at this point, seemed agitated, according to the report and she threw the plate down.
When the waitress snatched the plate from the customer and walked back toward the kitchen, the report stated the customer followed her telling the waitress to get a manager.
At this point, the report stated the waitress came back around toward the table tossing the plate at the customer, who told police it struck the middle of her chest just below her throat. The plate shattered when it hit the ground.
When the customer’s male companion went up to the counter to try to complain to a manger, the report states the same waitress threw a food tray at him striking him in the collarbone. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Why no charges were filed during the incident
According to a Niles police report, no charges were filed since the customer left before officers arrived on the scene shortly after 6:30 p.m.
