Man dies, girlfriend taken to hospital in Youngstown shooting

A 42-year-old man was found dead and his girlfriend was transported to the hospital after a double shooting Monday morning in the 1100 block of Park Hill Drive in Youngstown.

The call was reported at 4:46 a.m.

When Youngstown Police officers and an EMT arrived, they found the man deceased and his girlfriend, a 43-year-old woman, was taken to Mercy Health Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

Police believe the incident was a directed crime and there is no danger to the public.

The shooting is being investigated by the Youngstown Police Department Detective Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Mahoning County Coroner’s Office.
