Trumbull County jury returns guilty verdict in domestic violence case
A Trumbull County jury returned guilty verdicts in the trial of Warren resident Joseph Lowe Jr., 42.
Lowe was convicted of two counts felony domestic violence, one felony count of violating a protection order and one count of misdemeanor assault.
The trial ended Tuesday; Common Pleas Judge Sean O’Brien will pronounce sentence after Lowe undergoes a background investigation conducted by probation officers.
Lowe was charged after an incidence on March 18 of this year at a mobile home at 67 Kings Drive in Newton Falls.
Sheriff deputies investigated and charged Lowe at the home where his estranged family was staying, including his ex-wife and three children.
During the trial on Monday, Lowe’s ex-wife and three children testified for the state.
They said Lowe had barged into the home and pushed the woman as well as assaulting the older son and throwing a cellphone at that son’s girlfriend.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
The jurors took six hours over two days to reach the verdicts.
Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman represented the state at trial, and Lowe was defended by Carlo Ciccone.
Lowe, who also testified in his own defense at trial, could face up to a maximum nine years in prison if the felonies are run consecutively.
