Police investigate burglary at Warren home
Warren Police are investigating a burglary report Sunday at a home in the 1500 block of Genesee Avenue NE.
Officers talked to a woman who left for work before 5 a.m. and when she returned about five hours later, she observed her front door open.
The woman called 911 after finding damage to the door and the home ransacked with furniture overturned, drawers were opened and televisions moved. The home’s security cameras showed two men had entered the home and took items including two televisions various children’s toys and a flight simulator setup and loading them into an unknown vehicle, the police report states. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $1,600.
Another police report stated neighbors at a house on the same side of the block of Genesee Avenue NE reported another break-in to police about 10 a.m. on Sunday.
The report stated the rear and front door to that home was damaged, but no other details were given in the report.
Meanwhile, a Trumbull County Sheriff’s office report stated a barn was broken into and various hand tools, including a saw and three drills were taken from the residence in the 7700 block of Parkman Mesopotamia Road in Mesopotamia Township.
The break-in occurred between midnight Dec. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 9. There was no forced entry, the report stated as the barn was unlocked. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $1,500, the report stated.
