December holiday travel brings rising gas prices to northeast Ohio, according to AAA
The average price for a gallon of gasoline across northeast Ohio is rising after the rush of holiday travel and before the cold sets in.
This week, gas costs 14 cents more than last week at an average of $2.87 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

- Average price in northeast Ohio during the week of Dec. 27, 2022: $2.94
In Youngstown and Cleveland, a gallon of gas costs $2.81; in Willard and Solon, a gallon of gas ranges between $2.90 and $2.99.
The cheapest gallon of gas was in Ravenna at $2.66.
The national average price of a gallon of gas is $3.12, a slight increase from $3.08 last week.
The overall demand for gas and the price of oil have both increased nationwide, according to AAA.
This contributed to jump in prices at gas stations in Ohio as the stretch of winter approaches.
