Woman shot by person with Orbeez gun in Kohls’ parking lot in Boardman
Boardman police officers are investigating after a woman reported someone fired an Orbeez toy gun at her in a retail parking lot on Boardman Poland Road.
She said she was hit between four and five times in the back by water-absorbing gel balls called Orbeez fired from the toy gun, but wasn’t injured.
Police reports said the call came in shortly after 6:30 p.m. New Year’s Day from the parking lot of TJ Maxx and Homegoods in Boardman.
The woman told police she was walking out of the nearby Kohl’s store when she was hit by the Orbeez, according to police reports.
She said the shots came from the rear passenger seat of a small 2000’s silver Chevrolet as it drove past her.
She told police she believed it was an Orbeez gun that was used to hit her in the back, according to reports.
The vehicle then drove east and wasn’t located by police.
