Winter weather advisory issued for Mahoning, Trumbull counties through Saturday
Schools in Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties canceled classes today as more snow and frigid temperatures continue to impact northeast Ohio.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, there’s a winter weather advisory issued today through 4 a.m. Saturday for Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
This afternoon, the NWS is predicting a 70-100% chance of snow, somewhere around two to four inches.
Temperatures will be at a high of 28 F and a low of 12 F going into this evening.
There will be slippery road conditions that could impact this evening’s commute as more snow accumulates.
On Saturday, there’s a slight chance of snow showers, and the wind chill will be as low as -1 F.
In the evening, snow showers are likely to start before 1 a.m. and temperatures will be around 15 degrees above zero.
The chance of precipitation is 60%. Experts are predicting less than an inch of snow will fall on the ground on Saturday, but it’ll still be cold.
By Sunday morning, the hazardous weather conditions are expected to clear, according to the NWS alert.
The high on Monday is 36 degrees.
