Mahoning County offers Special Needs Registry for those in need during emergencies
The Mahoning County Commissioners have partnered with the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office to ensure all Mahoning County residents, especially the elderly, who may be in need of special assistance during emergencies – like during extreme winter weather emergencies caused by cold or snow -- are able to get the help they need.
The Special Needs Registry is open to any Mahoning County resident with a physical or mental impairment. It is free and confidential and will only be utilized by dispatchers, first responders and law enforcement during emergencies.
A similar service has been set up for Trumbull County residents.
More information and an application for the Mahoning County registry can be filled out here: https://prosecutor.mahoningcountyoh.gov/programs/special-needs-registry/
The registration form for Trumbull County residence is available from the board of commissioners or at FAQ - 911 Trumbull County.
For more information, contact the Trumbull 911 dispatch center at 330-675-7966 or email Mauro DVieste, 911 special needs coordinator, at erdivies@co.trumbull.oh.us.
