Johnathan York, 36, of Warren, received a six-month prison term Monday from Judge Cynthia Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after he pleaded guilty to an aggravated possession of drugs charge.

York’s lawyers stipulated that the defendant had several previous convictions for violent offenses, including several prison terms, and was not eligible for probation.

According to prosecutors, the case involved a Jan. 31, 2023, traffic stop made by Warren police officers who found the driver, identified as York, possessing a crack pipe with trace substances suspected of methamphetamine, in the pipe.

The substances later tested positive for the drug, and York was charged with the fifth-degree felony. York was credited for serving seven days in the county jail.
