The following cases were handled Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Jaquan Isom, 33, of Akron, was given an 18-month prison sentence on a conviction of a third-degree having weapons while under disability charge. The case involved an April 7, 2022, traffic stop in Brookfield where a handgun was found in Isom’s vehicle. Judge Logan stated the defendant was not eligible for probation because of six prior felonies. Because of his record, Isom was not allowed to be carrying firearms.
  • Darrell M. Phillips, 57, of Durst Colebrook Road, North Bloomfield, pleaded guilty to an attempted felonious assault charge. The third-degree felony carries a maximum three-year prison term. Phillips will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation. The case involved a May 26, 2023, incident at the Greene Township residence where two men were fighting and one was threatening the other with a machete, prosecutors said.
  • Jason Blair, 47, of Leavittsburg, pleaded guilty to a third-degree domestic violence charge. Blair, who could face up to three-year prison term, will be sentenced after he undergoes a background investigation. The third-degree felony came because of previous domestic convictions in Mahoning County and in Warren Municipal Court, prosecutors said. The case against Blair, prosecutors stated involved an investigation by Warren Township Police who found a 41-year-old woman bleeding from the head after she was struck with an ashtray in August 2023.
  • Kalyn Brown, 35, of Old Oak Drive, Cortland, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree trespass into a habitation felony and will be sentenced after she undergoes a background investigation by probation officers. Brown is one of four people charged in the break-in Aug. 15, 2023, at a residence in the 100 block of North River road in Warren Township.
