Customer alleges threat by Burger King worker after complaining about waiting for food

This week, Boardman police officers were called to investigate an alleged confrontation between a customer waiting in line and an employee.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Boardman Police Deparment reports show the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Tuesday at Burger King on Boardman Poland Road in Boardman.

Police reports show officers first spoke to the customer who filed the complaint against the Burger King employee.

The customer didn’t want to come back, according to reports, so police talked to him over the phone.

He told police he paid for food in the drive thru and was asked by the employees to “park his vehicle just north of the payment window on the northeast side of the business,” according to the report.

The customer waited about ten more minutes then said he saw an employee exiting the restaurant with his order.

The customer told officers what he talked to the employee about. He explained to the employee he “was not pleased with the amount of time that it took to be served his food,” according to police reports.

This was when the male employee told the customer, “I’ll...kill you,” according to the customer’s statement in the police report.

“While stating that he was going to kill him, [the employee] pulled what he believed to be a silver gun from his back pocket, ‘cocked it,’ and pointed it at him,” the customer told police in the report.

According to reports, the restaurant’s surveillance cameras weren’t able to get video of what happened.

After the alleged threat, the customer said he left the Burger King parking lot and called 911.

Officers also spoke with the employee at the restaurant but did not release either of their identities in the police report.

Reports say the employee denied having a firearm and showed the police officers what had been in his back pocket: two pairs of “brass knuckles,” one silver and another that was darker gray, that the customer believed to be a gun.

The employee let Boardman police to check his vehicle for any weapons, according to reports, and they confirmed he didn’t have a gun.

He told police the customer “requested his food be made ‘fresh,’ which causes an extended wait time,” according to the police reports.

The employee also said the customer “began to yell at him” when he delivered his food in the parking lot and “would not listen him.”

He denied threatening to physically harm the customer, according to the police report.
