Square One Health Youngstown celebrates opening newly renovated building

Renovations are done, and Square One Health Youngstown is officially ready to help treat residents battling addiction from around the Mahoning Valley.

Toward the end of 2022, Square One Health Youngstown bought the former California Palms Addiction Recovery Campus, according to The Business Journal.

Square One Health Youngstown is an extension of a treatment center in Ashtabula that started treating patients in August of 2019.

They offer different detox, residential and and outpatient substance abuse treatment services.

Over a year after the building in Austintown was sold, Square One Health is proud to announce their renovations are complete.

Inside the Square One Health Youngstown treatment center at 1051 North Canfield-Niles Road in Austintown, here’s what they’ve added:

  • 104 beds
  • meditation room
  • game room with 2 pool tables, shuffleboard and ping pong
  • a dedicated lounge on each floor and group room for clients
  • gym
  • meeting area

“We are very excited to be able to expand our services to the Mahoning Valley,” said Square One Health’s executive director Sarah Pace.

Opening Square One Health

According to Pace, the Square One Health treatment center was first established in 2019 in Ashtabula.

She said what began as a 16 bed men’s residential facility quickly grew into more.

“By February of 2020 we opened our 14 bed detox facility, followed by our 16 bed women’s residential facility in August of 2020 and our outpatient facility by December of 2020,” said Pace.

After renovations have been completed at the Austintown clinic, Pace said they’re already looking to expand into neighboring Pennsylvania communities, starting in McKeesport, a small town south of Pittsburgh.

She said a Square One Health clinic in McKeesport could open as early as this spring.
