$25,000 offered for information on who shot Youngstown police officer

UPDATE: The Youngstown Police Department is announcing a reward up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest, prosecution and/or conviction of the individual(s) responsible for shooting at and wounding YPD officers on the evening of Feb. 9. This reward is being jointly offered by the City of Youngstown, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms and the U.S. Marshals.

Tips and information can be called into a number of agencies. including the Youngstown Police Department at (330) 747-7911; Crime Stoppers at (330) 746-CLUE; the ATF at (888)-ATFTIPS; or the U.S. Marshal Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at (866)-4WANTED. ORIGINAL STORY: A Youngstown police officer was reportedly shot Friday night, but has non-life threatening injuries from being grazed by a bullet from a nearby shootout.

What the department described as “a critical incident” was being investigated Friday night on the south side of the city in the area of Firnley, Ravenwood and Glenwood avenues

Struthers, Boardman, Youngstown State and the Ohio State Patrol departments helped Youngstown police at the scene.
