Local businesses donated gifts and coats to children across Mahoning and Trumbull counties for the winter season and the holidays.

Trumbull County Children Services brings gifts

Trumbull County Children Services is thanking the community business owners and individuals who donated gifts to children in the area during the holiday season.

Thirty-three businesses and six community members provided gifts for 605 children celebrating Christmas, according to TCCS.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming support we received from the community and local businesses. Their generosity has made a significant impact on the lives of these children, creating lasting holiday memories, and spreading joy during the festive season,” said outgoing executive director, Tim Schaffner.

The owners of Boardman Subaru want their neighbors in Mahoning County to know they’re “more than a car dealer in the Mahoning Valley.”

At the end of January, Boardman Subaru and nonprofit Operation Warm® directly donated 400 brand new coats to students at Youngstown Community School.

John Stanko, vice president of Boardman Subaru, said all of the employees who volunteered were excited and grateful to go.

“Getting to meet these kids and spend time with them was amazing. Helping the people in our community who need it is not just a responsibility, but a privilege. To provide something that we often take for granted and see the kids light up was an honor for all of us,” said Stanko.

In Febraury, Boardman Subaru’s providing even more new coats to people in Mahoning Valley communities.
