Youngstown man gets 12 months in prison on weapons charges
The following cases were handled Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:
- Craigory Davenport, 38, of Early Road, Youngstown, received a 12-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to charges of having weapons while under disability and improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle. The case stems from a June 2023 investigation by Howland police who found a gun on the floor of a vehicle during a traffic stop involving Davenport. The defendant is not permitted to handle firearms because of a previous robbery conviction in Mahoning County court, prosecutors stated.
- Marcus E. Teague, 35, of Green Acres Drive, Liberty Township, was sentenced to six-month in prison after pleading guilty to a fifth-degree aggravated possession of drugs charge. The sentence will be served at the same time for a sentence Teague received in Mahoning County for a 2022 conviction on felony gun charges. He is currently incarcerated at Madison Correctional Institution. The drug charge stemmed from an April 2022 traffic stop in Lordstown where methamphetamine was found, prosecutors stated.
