Youngstown police arrest man accused of ‘forcing woman’s head through a wall’
Youngstown Police arrested a man who’s being charged with felonious assault for allegedly hurting his ex-partner in front of her daughter.
Reports say during the assault, the man “forced her head through a wall in the living room.”
Police responded on East Avondale Avenue in Youngstown around noon on Wednesday.
The man had left the home before police got there, and police reports say neighbors last saw the man running toward Boston Avenue.
The victim was treated by EMTs, who reports say “advised [she] may need a stitch or two for the laceration on her leg.”
Reports say she told responding officers the man woke her up when he “came to her house at 4 a.m. today” and started to physically fight her.
Reports say the fight started over the man grabbing the victim’s cell phone and not giving it back.
During the struggle, the victim told police he pushed her head through the wall and choked her on the ground. She told police she started to pass out.
The reports also said the victim was cut with “an unknown object on both her right wrist and on the back of her right knee.”
According to police, two more Youngstown Police Department officers searched the area for the man who ran from the house, while the first officer spoke with the victim.
Reports say they found him at 3004 Southern Boulevard and he was taken into custody “without incident.”
While they were searching him, reports say police located “two oxycotin pills” in his pocket.
Records showed he also had a warrant for failing to appear in court.
Police reports show he’s now facing charges for failing to appear in court, as well as the new felonious assault, a second misdemeanor assault charge and possession of a controlled substance.
