What does Ohio weather look like in March? Here’s what Farmers’ Almanac predicts

Spring will be hopping in before you know it.

Its official start is on March 19 with the spring equinox. This date could mean saying “goodbye” to the cold.

Of course, spring weather is a toss-up around the nation because some states usher in warmer days quicker than others.

So, what’s the forecast for Ohio?

Here’s what the Farmers’ Almanac says.

Farmers’ Almanac spring 2024 predictions

The Farmers’ Almanac is calling this spring a “polar coaster” because many states will stay colder longer.

Here’s a look at the long-range forecast for the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley & Midwest region which includes Ohio and Pennsylvania.

March 1-3 - Sun then clouds. Balmy breezes.

March 4-7 - Turning colder, rain switching to snow. Heavy rains, snows Ohio Valley; lesser amounts to south.

March 8-11 - Changeable skies.

March 12-15 - Frigidly cold, but dry.

March 16-19 - Storm from Central Plains to Great Lakes deposits heavy rain/snow in northern areas.

March 20-23 - Variable clouds; storm moving north along Atlantic Seaboard brings rain, wet snow to easternmost Kentucky and Ohio.

March 24-27 - Milder temperatures, cloudy. Rain, snow into Wisconsin, Illinois, parts of Michigan and Indiana by March 27.
