Drug search takes place at Weathersfield Township house

According to a news release from the Trumbull County sheriff’s office, investigators with the TAG drug task force executed a search warrant Feb. 27 in the 1300 block of Gilbert Avenue in Weathersfield Township.

A Trumbull County judge signed the warrant after investigators detailed to the judge results of a drug trafficking investigation. Also the news release stated the residence was the site of multiple drug overdoses.

Members of the task force, along with officers from the Howland Township, Brookfield Township and Weathersfield Township police departments, recovered about 74 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Criminal charges are expected to be filed after the suspected drugs are tested at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation lab, the release stated.
