The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office publicly announced the death of a corrections officer who’s served the community for 16 years.

James Anders started in law enforcement as a reserve deputy, but shifted to be a Trumbull County corrections officer in 2008.

Anders passed away at the age of 49 Feb. 26, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend deep and heartfelt condolences to the Anders family. Officer Anders will be sincerely missed,” the department wrote on Facebook.
