Garrettsville man pleads guilty to failure to comply with order of a police officer

The following case was handled Tuesday afternoon before Judge Ronald J. Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Dale W. Heigley, 51, of Garrettsville, pleaded guilty to a third-degree failure to comply with order or signal of police officer felony. Heigley will be sentenced April 11 after submitting to a background investigation conducted by probation officers. His case involved a hit/skip crash involving a Trumbull County sheriff’s cruiser about 9:15 p.m. on April 14, 2023, at the intersection of Painesville Warren State Road NW and state Route 534 in Southington Township. Heigley could face up to three-year prison term, plus a lengthy driver’s license suspension.

The following case was handled Tuesday morning before Judge Andrew D. Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Saul Vaughn, 32, of Fenton Street, Niles, was given an 18-month prison sentence on drug-related offenses. Vaughn had pleaded guilty to two counts trafficking in cocaine; one count possession of fentanyl related compound, possession of cocaine , possession of fentanyl-related compound and another cunt of having weapons while under disability. The charges stem from an investigation from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s TAG drug task force in September 2022. Found during execution of a search warrant was a handgun and $276 in cash, which Vaughn agreed to forfeit as part of the plea agreement.
