Former Warren police officer faces 16 charges of sexually assaulting two women

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted a former Warren police officer on accusations that he sexually assaulted women..

Michael Edwards, Jr. was charged with gross sexual imposition, extortion, rape, sexual battery, theft in office, and dereliction of duty. He faces a total of 16 charges.

The indictment says Edwards is accused of assaulting two women between January and the summer/fall of 2023.
