Dover man arrested after Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force sting

A Dover man was reportedly arrested Friday as part of a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force sting.

An official from the office said Dover resident Nicolas Ortiz, 24, traveled to Salem after agreeing during the sting to pay $100 for a sex act with a 15-year-old on a website used for prostitution. solicitations.

Once he arrived, Ortiz was arrested on charges of:

  • Attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor
  • Compelling prostitution,
  • Importuning
  • Possessing criminal tools.

Police said he was also found with medication not prescribed to him that was purchased from a friend.

Ortiz was placed into Columbiana County Jail.
