Prosecutor: Former Warren police officer now accused of abusing at least five women

Assistant Trumbull County prosecutor Gabe Wildman said in a motion filed Monday in Warren court there are now at least five alleged victims in the case of a former Warren police officer who is accused of sexually assaulting women while in the job.

Michael Edwards, Jr. faced a bond hearing on the matter on Monday.

He has been charged with gross sexual imposition, extortion, rape, sexual battery, theft in office, and dereliction of duty. He faces a total of 16 charges.

His trial is set for April 29.
