Trumbull County sheriff deputies investigate reported assault of three people on Sunday

Trumbull County sheriff deputies are investigating the report of three people, two men and a woman, who were assaulted by a 32-year-old Bristol man whom they were giving a ride home from several bars early Sunday morning, March 17.

Deputies met the victims at a North Park Avenue church parking lot where they learned that they met the Bristol man while they were participating in a dart tournament at Faces Lounge in Newton Falls. The man asked if he could go with them to another dart tournament at the Brick House in Youngstown.

While at the Brick House, the Bristol man got into an argument with the woman hew was with who happened to be his ex-girlfriend. The group drove back in the same vehicle to the man’s house in Bristol Township. En route, the report stated, the man began to hit the person who was in the passenger seat.

When the third man tried to get the assailant out of the car, the Bristol man struck the woman with a closed fist, causing her mouth to bleed. The man in the passenger seat had multiple cuts and bumps to the back of his head, the report stated. Both victims refused any medical treatment, the report stated.

Deputies told the victims how they can speak to the prosecutor at Trumbull County Central District Court about filing charges against the Bristol man.
