Rain slated to return to Mahoning Valley Sunday with more thunderstorms predicted

After a mostly dry Saturday, forecasters are predicting a return to rainy weather Sunday.

The Cleveland office of the National Weather Service said in a post on X, the social media network formerly known as Twitter, that thunderstorms are slated to develop Sunday afternoon with possible isolated strong to severe storms.

“A tornado can’t be ruled out,” the office said in a tweet Sunday morning.

Forecasters said the best chance for severe storms will be east of I-71 between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.
