It’s slated to be a busy summer for Trumbull County road projects. See the schedule here

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced the following road work and traffic alerts for Trumbull County projects.

U.S. Route 422 and state Route 5 (Warren bypass) will have resurfacing in Champion, Southington and Warren townships.

Through September 2024, Route 422 from North Leavitt Road in Warren Township northwest to state Route 305 in Southington, will have various lane restrictions. Meanwhile, during the same time, the Route 5/82 bypass in Warren Township from the U.S. 422 interchange to West Market Street will also see various lane restrictions.

In Vernon Township, state Route 5 just north of Bushnell Campbell Road is closed though late May because of a bridge replacement project. The detour is state Route 88 in Johnston through state Route 7 in Vernon and Kinsman.

Beginning May 13, the state Route 5/88 bypass in Warren, just west of the North Park Avenue underpass in Champion Township will be reduced to one lane for erosion control project. The estimated completion date of the project will be early July.

Beginning on May 19 and continuing for a few days, the divergent diamond project at the state Routes 46 and 82 interchange in Howland Township will experience lane changes for new phases of the project. Motorists in the area are advised to obey the posted signs. The estimated completion of the project is fall 2026.

State Route 46 in Weathersfield Township between Gilbert Street and Prospect Drive will experience various lane restriction for a resurfacing and drainage project. The estimated completion date is late June.

Resurfacing in the city of Niles will cause lane restrictions on state Routes 46 and 169. State Route 46 between Robbins Avenue and Niles Vienna Road will be affected, as will state Route 169 (Robbins Avenue) between state Route 46 to just west of U.S. Route 422 in McKinley Heights. The estimated completion of this project is late August.
