Trumbull County Common Pleas Court issued several felony verdicts on Wednesday.

Assault

Tobin Parkerross, 35, of Akron, was given an 11-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to a third-degree assault felony charge on April 10.

Parkerross was charged with attacking a correction officer during an incident on May 7, 2023, when the inmate was being pepper sprayed at Trumbull Correctional Institution.

Judge Sean O’Brien stated Parkerross was not eligible for the program at NEOCAP, the community facility that is the alternative to prison, and he showed little remorse for his crime.

Jacqueline B. Jue

Jacqueline B. Jue, 32, of Sheridan Avenue NE, Warren, received a six-month prison term after pleading guilty to one count of Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI), a fourth-degree felony. Court records show this was Jue’s third conviction for OVI.

The charge was connected to a one-vehicle crash on Feb. 15, 2023, that was investigated by Warren police. Judge Sean O’Brien issued a $1,350 fine, suspended her driver’s license for three years and ordered the vehicle involved in the crash – a 2013 Ford – to be forfeited by the defendant.

The following cases were handled Wednesday, May 29, 2024, before Judge Cynthia Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

Heath Cutlip

Heath Cutlip, 31, of Callaway Circle, Austintown, received an 18-month prison sentence after being convicted of three felony counts, aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of LSD, all with forfeiture specifications.

Presiding Judge Cynthia Rice stated Cutlip was not amenable to probation because he rated a high-risk to reoffend and has two active warrants out on him.

George Chambers

George Chambers, 54, of Cheasepeake, Va., was given a 15-month prison sentence after being

convicted of trespassing in a habitation, a fourth-degree felony, and theft from a person in a protected class, a fifth-degree felony.

The case involved a Sept. 10, 2023, incident where Chambers and another person were found “squatting” in a mobile home that was moved onto a Brookfield property. The couple was also charged with stealing utility service from the property owners who were elderly.

Joseph G. Jordan

Joseph G. Jordan, 44, of Mumford Drive, Youngstown, received a six-month prison sentence on a fifth-degree breaking and entering charge. The case involved a Dec. 12, 2023, burglary in Warren Township.

Judge Cynthia Rice also ordered Jordan pay $1,000 restitution to the victim. Jordan was not eligible for probation because he had six prior felony convictions and five prior prison sentences and he committed the current crime while on post-release control in the prison system.
