A Walmart employee was caught stealing nearly $1,000 worth of items from the store over a 3-month period, according to a police report.

Boardman police were dispatched to Walmart on Doral Drive. A Walmart employee reported to police that one of their former employees, a woman named Alyssa Ambramski, stole several items over a three-month period.

Police arrested Ambraski on Friday after finding her at a McDonalds on McKinley Drive. She is accused of 17 counts of theft, a first degree misdemeanor.

Ambramski stole from Walmart during each of her shifts starting from March. During her shift, she would attempt to ring up items and either pay a very reduced price or not pay for the item at all, according to the report. Then, she would leave after her shift, taking all the stolen items with her.

Walmart employees showed Boardman police CCTV footage of Ambramski’s actions, and informed them that Ambraski confessed to stealing the items. The police report stated that Walmart claimed she had stolen $5,000 worth of goods.

After police inspected CCTV footage and transaction records, they determined that Ambraski stole a total of $970.10 worth of items on 17 different days while she was working. This amount comes from 175 different items she stole, often steal 10-to-15 items after each shift, according to the report.

Walmart management fired Ambraski after confronting her of these actions. Employees provided Boardman police a written statement of Ambraski’s confession to the crime.

Ambraski was transported to the Boardman Police Department, where she was booked. She will be on trial for her charges on Tuesday morning.
