Two shoplifters reportedly stole from multiple Giant Eagle locations, taking thousands of dollars worth of items.

Boardman police responded to a call from the supermarket, located at 476 Boardman Canfield Road, on Thursday. A loss prevention employee told police that two men had stolen products from the store on Tuesday.

The men were caught on CCTV placing items such as soft drink cases and about 100 different health and beauty items into a shopping cart. This included medications such as Flonase, Claritan, Zyrtec and Nexium, according to the police report.

The two men then loaded the items into duffel bags and exited the store without paying, undetected, the report stated. The total amount of the stolen goods was $2607.29, according to the report.

The employee told police that these same men had stolen from several other Giant Eagle locations, including locations in Poland, Austintown, Canfield and Doral Drive, using similar methods. Each time they had made their escape in a silver Chrysler Dodge Grand Caravan, according to the police report.

One man was described as a heavyset white male in his mid-30s. The other man was described as a white man in his early 50s with an average build.

Boardman police are continuing to investigate the matter.
