Youngstown manufacturer commemorates centennial anniversary with yearlong celebration
A local metal and steel manufacturing company is spending 2024 looking back on a century of building community.
The team at Hynes Industries in Youngstown celebrates the company’s 100th anniversary this year.
The Youngstown-based organization employs more than 200 people across three Midwest locations.
They design and make custom products for industrial and commercial building projects, steel pipes and parts for solar panels and interstate semitrailers.
CEO of Hynes Industries Rick Organ said a new 100th-anniversary logo and a lobby display honoring the company’s history will be unveiled.
“Deepening our relationships with existing customers who’ve already come to know and trust our capabilities is important to us,” Organ said. “Here, we’re adding value by broadening our capabilities, narrowing our scope of work and taking steps to reduce time and cost.”
The organization is still based in Youngstown, employing over 200 people in three Midwest locations.
“There are not many businesses that make it to the 100-year mark, so this milestone is a testament to our culture of absolute reliability [and] and our future-focused mindset,” Organ said.
Hynes will also participate in community service projects like Youngstown Cityscape’s Planting Day and host events to show appreciation for customers and employees.
“At 100-years old, we’ve got the energy and tenacity of a start-up, but the wisdom and experience of an established player in our industry,” said Organ. “We’re poised to make smart investments that deliver more value to our customers and serve as a foundation to significantly grow our business.”
Hynes was founded as Hynes Steel Products in 1925 in Youngstown. In 2006, the company expanded into Kokomo, Ind., and acquired American Roll Formed Products of Painesville in 2015.
Hynes also consolidated its corporate headquarters in Youngstown in 2015.
