An employee of Shell gas station on Boardman Poland Road contacted police after she found what appeared to be a bag of crack cocaine.

Boardman police were dispatched to the Shell, where an employee reported that she found a clear bag with white powder and a hard rock substance on the floor next to the register.

According to the police report, the employee believed that a female customer who came in earlier dropped it while paying for her items. She told police that the same female customer came back moments later with a friend and looked all over the floor of the store.

The employee, however, had already found the bag by that time. According to the report, the suspects did not say anything to the employee while searching on the floor.

Youngstown police officers stated in the police report that they believed the powder to be crack cocaine. They logged it into evidence for further examination.

The suspect had driven away in a light gray or green Chevrolet Cruze, reports indicated. However, when officers ran the plate number, they found it was registered to a different vehicle.

Officers also took the CCTV footage of the suspect into evidence and are actively investigating the matter.
